Project D6
3rd Phase - Structuring information in natural language generation
In this project, we will develop a computer system that can generate language in a goal-directed manner. We will explicitly model the probability distribution over possible reactions to an utterance; the system will use this model to compute a discourse plan that maximizes the chance of communicative success, and monitor the hearer’s behavior to identify and repair communicative problems. We will evaluate this system in virtual 3D environments and use this platform for experiments with information structure.
